BARCELONA are facing disciplinary action after Real Madrid fans aimed homophobic chants at Cristiano Ronaldo during Saturday’s dramatic El Clasico showdown.
Home fans at the Nou Camp are alleged to have chanted ‘Cristiano come out of the closet’ towards the Real striker during the 1-1.
The offensive songs were drowned out by the 98,000-strong crowd inside the huge stadium, but La Liga chief Javier Tebas is adamant action may still be taken against the club.
Tebas and his La Liga colleagues are keen to stamp out any form of homophobia in football… And this is not the first time CR7 has been on the receiving end of the chants.
Just two weeks ago, against cross-town rivals Atletico Madrid at the Vicente Calderon, opposition fans sang the same song, amid previous reports Ronaldo has been in a relationship with a Moroccan kick boxer. (Sun)
